When I look at the stars

I heard several places this week that tonight would be the peak of the Geminid Meteor Shower , which is the biggest meteor shower to happen in 2010. I have never gone out to watch a meteor shower before but something convinced me to do it tonight, even with the 15 degree weather. Looking out at those stars, I couldn't help but think, "How would my view of God be different if I went to outer space?" Stop and think, think of the sheer magnitude of Earth. How big it is. How many people are on it. The size of its mountains and valleys. The depths of its oceans. HUGE. Now compare it to this,,,
That is the earth compared to the size of the sun. Pretty crazy huh? 1,000,000 earths could fit in the sun. If the sun was a planet like earth, the population would be 6887600000000000. Honestly I dont know what that number is. Or try this one, 326000000000000000000000000 gallons of water. That is a lot of water....but think of how big Earth is to us. Imagine looking down on that and realizing its 1000000 times smaller than the sun.

Recently, and astronaut who is a Christian described his experience on Focus on the Family radio. His name is Terry Virts and the reason I thought to research him is I heard one of the recent astronauts requested Brandon Heath as the wake up music. Check out this interview and see how his view of God was changed from space....and look at this picture while you listen.
